High spending results in high taxes and budget deficits.
Cut Spending.
Across the board spending cuts are the easiest solution
NJ Worst State for Property Taxes
* New Jersey – 1.89% average rate on  assessed value
This is why NJ ranks at the top of the list for Citizens leaving the state for states with lower property tax rates.
NJ a State With The Highest Taxes
* New Jersey at 11.8% of income
This  is why millionaires are leaving the state and taking their tax revenue with them.
This is why corporations are not relocating to NJ. They don’t want to subject their employees and executives to these high taxes.
And some companies are leaving our state.

“The Hertz Corporation today announced that the company will relocate its worldwide headquarters to Estero, Florida from Park Ridge, New Jersey.”

What is your legislative office doing to reduce Government spending in New Jersey?

The best way to cut Government spending is to start with 3 per cent across the board cuts.
The arguments against across-the-board cuts are weak, and cuts like these have worked when employed in practice. There is no comparable case to be made for targeted spending cuts. Why? Public choice theory would tell us that all programs in the current state budget are there for a reason. They have constituencies who have put them there, who have expanded them, and who will defend them. This is true in general, but it is especially true at a time of divided government. Divided government reinforces the inherent tendency of interest groups to drive state spending; in a government characterized by split party control of the legislature and the Governor, there are few, if any, programs that do not have political advocates”.
As more taxpayers and companies leave the state and less companies and citizens choose to relocate here the lost revenue will continue to degrade our fiscal situation. Cutting spending enables us to lower taxes and reverse this trend. State Governments have core responsibilities. Over taxing their citizens should not be one of them,
