An old letter: thoughts for 2016.

Our country is at a unique crossroads. Our country has a chief law enforcement officer who seems to defy Congress. Our country has unelected government officials in the bureaucracies of the Department of Environmental Protection, IRS, Department of Justice and Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Some nonelected political appointments are titled as czars. We have an appointed member of the Supreme Court who pronounced the health care monster is a tax. Our president avowed that the health care law will not raise taxes.
Our national debt is pushing the amount of our gross domestic product. There were rules written years ago that established what will happen if a corporation becomes bankrupt. Our government re-formed General Motors by ignoring those rules. It gave the employees a portion of the company's control while the holders of debts in the form of bonds were left out in the cold.
Can we dispose of a fetus if the child would be inconvenient or the undesired gender? Millions are unemployed, but are not counted in the percentages reported by our government. Former national leaders stated our nation is under God, or were they wrong? The November election will decide if our nation as we know it will continue.
